Anjali Mudra

Anjali Mudra is a yoga posture where the hands are brought together in prayer position in front of the heart center. It is often used as a gesture of respect or greeting, as well as a way to cultivate a sense of inner peace and balance.

Note: Anjali Mudra is a symbolic gesture that represents union with the divine. It is commonly used in yoga practice to cultivate gratitude and connect with the heart center. Variations of the posture can be used to balance the energies of the body and mind.

Anjali Mudra can be practiced on its own or incorporated into other yoga postures, such as mountain pose (Tadasana) or tree pose (Vrksasana). To perform Anjali Mudra, bring your hands together at the center of your chest, palms touching and fingers pointing upwards, and press your palms firmly together. Take a few deep breaths and allow your mind to become calm and centered.

Anjali Mudra is more than just a physical posture - it is a symbolic gesture that represents the union of the individual self (jivatma) with the divine self (paramatma). In Hindu mythology, Anjali Mudra is associated with the goddess Lakshmi, who is often depicted with four hands - two of which are held in Anjali Mudra. The gesture is also commonly used in Indian culture as a sign of respect and greeting, similar to a handshake or a bow.
